13.1 miles...hot to trot biznatches

It. Was. AWESOME!!!!

If you would have asked me a year ago if I thought that running for 2 hours straight sounded like fun, you would have been answered with a resounding EFF TO THE NO!

But....maybe I'm a little crazy....this last weekend it was a ton of fun! The girls and I woke up at the buttcrack of dawn and headed out to the race site. The energy there was amazing! People were pumped, excitement was high, and the port o potties were FULL! Apparently there were a bunch of folks with the runner's trots. Blech. (But luckily for me, my bowels were on good behavior and made it all the way through the race without complaining)

And 2 hours 6 minutes and 28 seconds later we crossed that finish line!! I was PUMPED to make such good time...my goal was under 10 minute miles the whole way and I DID IT! This is the part where I get cheesy....ok...it was an amazing experience training with 3 of my closest friends and to get to that finish line and see Jordan and the kids cheering me on was one of the proudest moments of my life. Seriously made me so emotional!! Ok....I'm done with the sentimental crap...here, look at pictures!

Where does the time go??

Ok seriously, how the heck has it been 3 weeks since I've blogged?? Why won't these kids leave me alone so I can blog in peace?! SHEESH! Don't they know I have priorities.

sidenote: as soon as I wrote that last line, Presley run up to be with her shirt half off and her undies around her ankles. see what happens when I get on the computer for 5 seconds??? Kids are nakey and trying to piddle on the floor!

Alright, I ducktaped her skivvies to her, so I should be good for at least 10 minutes.

Things have been crazy around here as always, but we managed to sneak in some awesome spring break fun! Road tripped to So-cal, hit up the happiest place on earth, family reunions, and so much more! Check it out....

It really was an awesome spring break! I hope you all had an awesome Easter break too, I can't wait to get caught up!

But I have so much more to update you on, like my upcoming race this weekend, Boogie's new therapist, and so much more! Until then, I'm off to hit the shops in search of the perfect half marathon outfit....a girl's gotta look good crossing the finish line!

All I have to say is that it is a DANG good thing she's cute because this week has nearly had me admitting myself to the "hospital" for "exhaustion". ..in celebrity language that translates into "go on a week long bender, shave my head, have raunchy photos unearthed, and sleep it off at rehab". Yeah, it was intense folks.

You see the thing is, she finally started the dreaded POTTY TRAINING. You would think that after 2 boys that I would have this potty bizness down....but no....oh no. Girls are a whole different ball game. On the one hand, its been WAY easier. She gets it. She's a natural born potty trainer....well, if you count out the time she pooped on the carpet, peed on the area rug, and sprinkled on the couch. Thank goodness for Resolve.

BUT she's a diva even on her porcelain throne. And yes, her toilet is shaped like a throne. She'll go potty if and ONLY if I'm in there reading her a book or singing songs or LITERALLY doing the potty dance. Half the time she doesn't even pee, I think she just wants me to read the book. Or she just gets a kick out of me dancing like an idiot. Ahhh the joys of motherhood....or something like that.

But hey, its FRIDAY and this mama is going out tonight. Its gonna be an early night though seeing as how I have my 12 mile run tomorrow morning!! GAH!

Just working on my fitness....

I'm not sure what it is about seeing a bathing suit hanging on the racks of Target that makes me want to go run 10 miles....but IT DOES!

And that's exactly what I've been doing lately! It seems that somewhere in the last 2 months I lost the remaining shred of sanity that I had, and I decided to take up running. You read that right...I DECIDED and no one was even holding a gun to my head. Crazy. I know.

And just to make sure I stuck with it...I signed up to run a 1/2 marathon with a few of my favorite girlfriends. 13 effing miles!! It sounded like a good idea at the time...like I said....sanity...out the motherlovin' window.

My body hurts, my ankle is killing me, I'm constantly tired, and I LOVE IT! Don't get me wrong though...it took me a while to love it. The first run I did I thought I was going to puke, pass out, have a heart attack or D-all of the above. By the time I got home I was so delirious that Jordan had to wave funfetti cake under my nose just to snap me back to reality.

But dude, I'm a MACHINE now! Ok, well not really a machine...but I can run and hold a conversation at the same time. TOOT TOOT! I've even been waking up at 5:30 every morning and going to the gym. That was tough for me, being the insomniac that I am, but now I can't imagine NOT going! Ughhh....I sound so....healthy. Feel free to gag and shove a twinkie down my throat.

BUT, I have to say, I love seeing changes...it feels flippin awesome. We should celebrate and eat some cake! Rice cake that is. We'll save the real cake for April 30th, after I make those 13 miles my biznatchel!! Until then....

Oh did I forget to tell you??

That we went to San Diego...

And had the best friggin' time ever???

Ooops...because we did.

We spent 4 glorious days celebrating our anniversary and it was just what the doctor ordered. While the kids were being spoiled rotten by Grandma and Grandpa, we were busy bow chicka bow wow living it up!

This was our first trip to SD together and it was a blast! It was bizarre being able to pick up and go wherever we wanted to and not have to worry about taking enough snacks to feed a small army or diapers or juice cups or nap times...you get the drift.

We checked out tons of incredible museums, amazing restaurants, shopped....and shopped some more..and most of all we RELAXED!!!! I slept in until NINE AM!!! I'm pretty sure I haven't slept in that late since 2003. No joke.

Man, I need another vacation already!! The ONLY thing I'm bummed about is that I didn't get to meet up with my boo, Surferwife. *tear* But I guess that means I have to take ANOTHER trip back down! WORD!

So there you have it amigos...my Lovefest 2011. Amazing. You know what else was amazing?? Coming home to MY TOILET!! Oh sweet mother of pearl, I think I missed my toilet more than my kids...but don't get me wrong, I did miss the kids too. A lot...ok maybe a little...well...kind of.
