Nothing like the smell of diesel in the air...

The trucks were monsters, the engines were revving, and the Cline familia was PUMPED! It was time to take the boys to their first ever MONSTER JAM!! It's a rite of passage that all little boys must experience in life. Their time had come...the young grasshoppers must learn the ways of the diesel world.

We surprised them by taking them to the show Friday night and the boys were beyond excited. So we decked them out in some official monster jam gear and we were ready to go! All in all, it was an awesome night! The trucks were crazy-big, smashing all over the place, and flying through the air...so cool to see in person. They even had a giant robot dinosaur that ate cars and breathed fire....talk about BADARSE!

{Cutest boys at the Monster Jam!}

{Me and my Boo...}

{GRAVEDIGGER!!!! Coolest truck EVER!! Mason LOVES him!}

{He was just a wee-bit excited....ya think??}

{El Toro Loco is Boogie's favorite! You mess with the bull, you get the horns!! }

{Now that is bad-friggin-arse...enough said.}

{Megasaurus was mega-awesome!! Boogie LOVED this!!}

The only hard part of the night was seeing this....

{Sensory overload...breaks my heart to see him shut down.. :( }

The loud noises, bright lights, and crowd were a little overwhelming for Boogie. It hurt my heart to see his smile fade and his sensory take over. There were definitely parts of the night where he struggled to make it through and I could just see his anxiety radiating off of him. Luckily, we were able to put some of the therapy tools we've learned to good use, and were able to calm him down. And while he had a few rough spots, he did LOVE watching El Toro Loco and Megasaurus. AND he did have a blast with his big brother, which was super cute to watch.

Plus we got to end the night on a good note, by getting to meet and hang with all of the monster truck drivers!! The boys thought this was the coolest thing EVER and have proudly hung their autographed pennants in their room for all to see.

{Making friends with the drivers!! So cool!}

{An autograph and hang out sesh for a few select fans...}

I have to say, it was pretty fun having a boy's night out!! As much as I missed Little Miss Presley, it was so fun to just bond with the boys. I can't wait to take them again next time!!

But I guess its only fair we even out the playing field and have a little girl's night with the Little Miss...looks like Disney on Ice is coming to town....WE'RE SO THERE!

Happy Wednesday Amigos!!!

The post where I'm too tired to think of a post title ++

This has been the longest week EVER!

UGHHHH.....

Between the kids being sick for what seems like the last month, and the average of 4 hours of sleep I've been getting, I'm beat. I'm tuckered out. I'm friggin POOPED! Thankfully its Friday and I can put my feet up tonight and just relax...BWAAAHHAA!! Yeah. Right. What is this word 'relax' that people speak of??

So instead of putting my feet up tonight, I'll be here...

Watching these beasts...

With these guys...

Because it makes them happy. And if they're happy, I'm happy.

Even if that means being tired and happy.

Happy Friday Amigos!

What's the going rate for a geriatric 27 year old??

I feel...OLD.

Not because I'm 27 with 3 children. Not because I wake up every morning with a back ache and joints popping all over the place. Not because my favorite show is Murder She Wrote.

No folks, those are all just side effects of my fabulous life as a SAHM. Jealous much?

The reason I'm feeling old because this week we got...gulp...LIFE INSURANCE!

Ugghhhh...I can feel the gray hair seeping in. Oy. I feel like I should be flipping through catheter catalogs and start driving 20 miles an hour in the middle lane. I've already started responding to people by saying "That's nice dear". I'm trading in my Nordstrom's card for an AARP card. I'm going to have to start carrying hard candies and crumpled tissues in my purse. It's all downhill from here....and I'm not just talking about my boobies.

{Say Queso!}

Not only did buying life insurance age me 30 years, but its made me just a wee bit suspicious. I think Jordan's trying to ice me. That's right. He's trying to find a pair of cement shoes in my size, ifyaknowwhatimean.

Why else would he get life insurance on me?? Hmmm??? I'm gonna have to sleep with one eye open from now on. I should probably have him taste test all my food too.

In all honesty, it SUCKS having to plan for things like this. It provides some relief knowing our children are covered in case anything awful would happen. But I found myself getting emotional throughout the process of getting the insurance. Talking about all the possibilities of what could happen was just too much for me to handle.

Anydebbiedowner, lets end this on a positive note, shall we?! It's a 3 day weekend! Yeeaahhh boy! I can't wait to catch up on some blogs and hang with la familia!

Happy Friday Amigos!!

Grab an Ensure and lets get the party started, geriatric style!!

ps- thank you SO much for all the awesome comments on the cake! Boogie LOVED it and he's already requested more cakes :)

TA-FRIGGIN-DA!!! I DID IT!!!!!

TOOT TOOT!!

That's my flippin' whistle right there folks, because I DID IT! I made a fondant cake and I love love love the way it turned out. First time folks. FIRST TIME. TOOOOOOT! I'm done tooting now. I can't wait to see the look on Boogie's face when he sees his cake. That smile is going to be worth the powdered sugared mess all over my kitchen, the burning in my back from standing, the bags under my eyes....totally worth it.

{Jinkies that a rad lookin' cake!}

It was actually a lot easier than I had anticipated...but sweet mother of pearl, my hands are SORE! All that kneading....ughhhh...not fun. But still, totally worth it! I'll accept my Mother of the Year award now, thankyouverymuch.

I suppose I'd better shut the fridge and stop making googly eyes at my Boogie's cake now, seeing as how I have a party to throw tonight! Boogie's turning the big 0-4 this weekend and we're gonna celebrate Scooby style! Woot!

Happy Weekend Amigos!

ps- Did anyone catch Jersey Shore?!?! Yeeaaahhhh! Loved every hot mess minute of it!!

Share a spoon!!

My amazing MIL introduced us to this yummy recipe and I thought it would be perfect to share for my Momma B's Share a Spoon Thursday! Her theme this week is figure friendly meals, and since my dish has the word "skinny" in it, I think it TOTALLY counts!

Think Tank Momma

So here is the Cline familia's recipe for Skinny cow sundaes!

- Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches (so yummy and way fewer calories!)
- Sugar free caramel sauce
- Sugar free chocolate sauce
- Fat free Cool Whip
- Fun size Heath bar

{I don't have a pic of the actual sundae, but these are skinny cow sandwiches! YUM!}

These are beyond easy and oh-so yummy! Just layer a small glass pan with a drizzle of the chocolate sauce. Then place the ice cream sandwiches in the pan close together. Place a light layer of Cool Whip across the tops of the sandwiches. Drizzle with the caramel sauce. Crumble up the Heath bar and sprinkle it across the top. Place them in the freezer for a bit and Voila!! Super yummy, lower calorie, totally easy dessert!

We've made this sundae for so many of our friends and they can't even tell that its low-fat! So go on and make them...and eat one for me! In fact, eat 2...since they are low fat and all. Right?!

Happy Snacking!

Calling all bakers!! +

I've got an idea.

(Jordan always rolls his eyes when I say that...he knows I'm up to something crazy and most likely in over my head!)

And it's either going to be totally awesome, or its going to be a massive failure. Obviously I'm hoping for the former because I have a certain almost 4 year old little boy who is DYING to have a Scooby Doo cake for his birthday party this weekend. Okay, maybe he's not dying to have one because I haven't even mentioned it to him at all, but I think it would be pretty friggin rad!

So here's my idea....a fondant cake decorated a la Scooby Doo!! Sounds awesome, right? Well there's only one teeny little problem with that. I don't know how to make or work with fondant. Just a minor detail. The one time I tried to make it, it was a mess! But that was ages ago and I'm ready to give it another go. And there's also the fact that I HATE baking....but I love being creative and decorating so I guess I can suffer through making a boxed Betty Crocker cake. Sigh.

So that's what today is gonna be dedicated to. Fondant. All day, til I get it right. I've got a pretty simple idea of how I'm going to design the cake. I feel confident that I can do it....I think.

{LOVE this! Too bad mine will look nothing like this! HA!}

However, any tips would be appreciated! Have you ever worked with fondant? Anything I should know before I begin this massive undertaking?? HELP!!

Luckily for me, one of my favorite people knows all about it...so Steph, you can bet I'll be calling you ALL day!

Keep your fingers crossed it turns out! But just in case, I had better go order a back up cake...

Happy Thursday Amigos!!

Pass the chocolate and nobody gets hurt+ oh, and The Bachelor...

Monday was CRAP. Literally crap. Dog crap to be specific....ALL OVER MY HOUSE.

That's right folks. I woke up to 4 piles of poo-dung, 1 puddle of piddle, and 2 mutts in need of a new home (I'll even throw in the dog food). So needless to say, my first Monday of the year was NOT off to a good start.

And it seemed I wasn't the only one, because my Bestie was joining my Midol party. It turned out we both seemed to be having one of those days. You know those days. The days where you're sitting on the closet floor naked for an hour because you hate all your clothes and nothing fits you and the only thing thats gonna make you feel better is a king size Twix bar, a slurpee from 7-11, and an old Spice Girls cd.

So we did what any emotional hormonal girls would do....we ATE our feelings. You heard me! Bring on the yoga pants, gummy bears and cheetos! Nothing soothes the soul like a little trans fat and trashy reality television.

Sidenote: Speaking of trashy reality television, did you watch The Bachelor?? I'm dying to talk about it! I'm pretty sure I saw a vampire on there...pickings must be slim this year!

2 episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and 1 episode of The Bachelor later, and things are looking up again. So Monday, you may have sucked monkey balls, but on the bright side at least I had my Bestie to commiserate with. That's the perfect way to start off a new year if ya ask me!!

If you'll excuse me, the sugar high has worn off and the indigestion has kicked in....I'll be in the bathroom if you need me.

Happy Tuesday!!!

(I hope!)
