Today's the big day friends... We're loading up the bus and heading out because it's field trip day! That's right, it's the end of the year field trip for Mason's first grade class and things are about to get a whole lot crazier, because guess who gets to go? Mmmhhhmm. You know it. I got the golden ticket fools!
Only 2 parents get the coveted seats on the bus with the screaming herd of rabid hooligans, and yours truly is one of them. Apparently I pissed someone off. I know. Lucky me, right? I get to be a chaperone. You know what that means, don't you? Someone actually TRUSTS me to watch these little whippersnappers. They must have read my blog and realized that I'm the Mother of the Year. 2010 Represent! Note to self: pack extra Red Bull, zip ties, and duct tape.
{He's saving a seat on the bus for one lucky lady}
Well, its over rated according to Boogie. Last week the boys started swim lessons. I couldn't wait to get them in the water! It's another one of those parenting milestones that I couldn't wait to check off the list. We'd already done a school play, we'd already lost a first tooth, and we'd already had our first fist fight....it was time to throw on some frigging floaties and get down to business!!
Mason couldn't wait to get into the water. He was so excited I thought he was going to pee himself. And he did, in the pool...he told his entire class. As for Boogie...well...he's not so much a fish in the water as he is a CAT in the water. This is how he spent his ONE and ONLY swim class....
Like a terrified kitty up in a tree. It broke my heart that he was so scared, but at the same time I couldn't help but laugh at this picture. He was NOT going in that water and there was no talking him into it. Trust me, I tried. I sweet talked, I bribed, I threatened, I begged. Nothing. Zip. Nada.
So with one class under his belt Boogie has officially 'thrown in the towel'. HA!! Get it?! The towel?! Swim...yeah..anyway. But, at least I get to check it off my list. And Mason still gets to pee in the pool, so it's pretty much a win-win.
Not really though! Don't get all crazy and call CPS!!
The day has finally come. Another motherhood milestone to cross off the list! Today is Mason's very first....wait for it.....SCHOOL PLAY!! That's right ladies and gents, our little dude is making his theater debut. He's finally going to be able to showcase those acting chops! And I know I should be excited but I'm a little...well...nervous.
You see, Mason has the habit of saying and doing the most inappropriate things at the worst time. Like in the middle of a family dinner he decided to follow up someone's comment with a loud "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!" (that's my boy!! insert fist pump here!). Or at church when he decided to show me how he could fart with his armpits (which is actually impressive at such a young age!). Or at the drive-thru when he asked the cashier if he was chubby from eating too many french fries. Or at the market last night when he told the cashier he was going to stab him. You get the point.
So yeah, I'm a tad nervous. Here's hoping that Vet #1 sticks to the script!! But don't worry...I'm taking my camera along in the likely event that he doesn't. Note to self: crush up extra ritalin into Mason's cereal today.
{Take a hike R-Patz there's a new bad boy in town!!}
Either way, it should make for a fun day. Watch out world, today, a star is born!
Friggin A.....Friday at last! It's been one heck of a week and all I have to say is get me a baby sitter and an ice cold red bull! STAT! Now that the kids are done barfing on my linens and my sanity is slowly crawling back to me I can share a few of the highlights from this week....
Boogie started pre-school and is doing FABULOUS! BOOYA!!
{He's a man on a mission!! Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man: no time to talk!}
{I'm not sure...but I think he liked school! Just a guess.}
I mastered my guidette poof...
{Channeling my inner Snooki...they call me Wookie...if you need me I'll be beating up the beat.}
And last but not least... drum roll please....
The Little Miss walks the walk!!This one's a must see!!
{Baby girl's got her sea legs!! *Tear* Now I can teach her how to drop it like its hot! Ye-yeah!}
Have a fantastic weekend folks! I know I will!
ps- anyone catch jersey shore????? best.show.ever.
So I didn't say anything before hand, because I wasn't sure if it was going to happen...but alas...IT IS! Today will be Boogie's very first day of PRE SCHOOL! **tear**sob** WAHHHHHH!!!**Anyone have a tissue? I'm a little bit snot-faced over here. I'm SO not good with milestones.
Now that he's 3, he's eligible for an awesome program with our school district that helps kids with disabilities/impediments/special needs get the extra help they need. Not only is he eligible, but he was accepted!! Whoop whoop!! For Boogie, that means he'll be getting some speech therapy as well as some help with his sensory issues to get him to where he needs to be. AMAZING!
For the past 9 months Levi has had his own personal speech therapist come to the house to work with him one on one. Mary Jane was an absolutely AMAZING woman who not only helped Levi go from BARELY SPEAKING to forming structured sentences and building up quite the vocabulary, but she loved him. She truly did. It broke my heart the last visit she made because I knew she wouldn't be back. Boogie adores her. He still asks for her!! But thanks to her he's now able to start this amazing program that is just going to help him blossom!
So now, twice a week, my little man is off to school. Backpack and all. It's legit. You hear that Little Miss Presley? It's just me and you and Target now. Well, twice a week that is. But still...is it too early to feel the empty nest syndrome??
{Check out Boogie in his jammies and back pack! Presh!!!}
So last night Boogie was STOKED about going to school, so I thought I'd share a little snippet with you...careful, he's pretty irresistible (right Banana?). His little voice is just too cute for words, hear for yourself...
{Boogie goes to school!! Watch out ladies :) }
If anyone needs me I'll be snuggling the Little Miss tight and waiting until 2:30 so I can pick my boys up from school. Man, I need a hobby...
Remember how I told you how 3 of my besties were knocked up with little hooligans of their own? Well 2 of them went into labor yesterday!! Sucks for them!WHOOP WHOOP! Kiss your life goodbye ladies, because it's all downhill from here! Burn the skinny jeans and embrace the yoga pants!! I kid. I joke. Relax....oh, and breeeeathe....he he hoooo
I'm so happy to say that my lady, we shall call her Miss E, delivered at noon a beautiful and healthy baby guuuurl. I'll reveal photos and info and that fun stuff another day, I want mama to get first dibs at that! But man....she's going to be one gooooorgeous little girl...I'm gonna have to lock up my boys in a few years!
And my other lady, Miss B, is STILL laboring!!! Over 24 hours!! UGGHHHHHH shoot me in the face. AND she's already over a WEEK overdue. That dear woman.....she deserves an award. Or at least an ice cold Red Bull and a back rub. But Miss B is the epitome of patience, truly she is. Her story isn't mine to tell, but this baby has been a long time in the making....8 years or so....so I guess another day isn't too long to wait...right?
Who the freak am I kidding???? YES IT IS!!! Buuuuuut at least the hospital cafeteria has some awesome food. Blech. I'm trying to find a bright side to this....ohhhh here's one....just think of how cute baby Ryder will be when he's spitting up on these.....
Bright side. Found it! But for real, I'm so stoked to go snuggle on some sweet babies and give them back when I'm done!! HA! Lucky for me they both live down the street so I can get my baby fix anytime....because apparently Little Miss Presley has decided that she wants to grow up.
Sigh.
I can't talk about it. It's really a sore subject right now. I've tried to talk reason into her, but she won't listen. And to make things worse, she's decided that she wants to....TALK! That's right, Presley knows her first word. She's been copying sounds for quite some time, but this is her first WORD. When she says it she knows EXACTLY who she wants. And it's NOT Mom. It's not even Dad! Nope. It's Duke. Who's Duke, you're asking? Ahem. He's my mother's DOG. Mmmmhmm. Her mangy mutt. So here she is ladies and gents...Little Miss Presley saying her first word.. *tear*
PS- after the whole pill fiasco with Mason we decided to go back to his old medicine...yeah...nice. I'm glad we scarred our son for life all for NOTHING!
