Dun dun duuuuunnn!! The moment of truth has arrived.
I'm just not sure I want to hear the truth!! But there's no getting out of it...today is Mason's first real PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE! ..well crap...Technically we had his first conference in kindergarten but it revolved mainly around finger painting and abc's and all that hoopla...this time it's the real deal.. SUCK! I don't think my frazzled nerves can take it! Can't I just send the teacher a note saying I know he's a crackhead, I'm sorry, here's a gift certificate to Target, go buy yourself something nice??
I mean, as much as I want to hear about how he sings Super Freak in class (true story...proud mother right here), shakes his booty then tells the teacher he's 'dropping it like its hot', and kisses the ladies on the playground, I'm not sure I can handle any surprises. Just sitting here typing about it is putting me on the verge of a panic attack! Because at the end of the day I'M responsible for that sweet little boy, and his mellow disposition....HAAA!!! Who am I kidding?? Mellow my arse! He's about as calm as I am patient. That kid is a flippin' mini-me, it's all my fault. Thank goodness for Ritalin is all I can say. I don't think there's anything his teacher could say that would surprise me. I just hope that he hasn't scarred her too badly. Maybe I should forget the Target gift certificate and get her therapy sessions instead.
Fingers are crossed. I'm praying everything goes well. Wish us luck!

that kid is def getting famous one day...and ideally get really rich as well, marry my daughter and then take care of the senile both of us...how 'bout that? sipping cocktails and checking how many hits he gets on google?
ReplyDeletelet's face it hun, wouldn't you be worried if he was a shy, quiet, timid kid?? like "that kid's not mine, they gave me the wrong one at the hospital!!!"
yeah...you got it...i found a shop that had diet redbull...woo woo!
The parent teacher conference is going to be all rainbows and candy, no doubt. If not, just burst into tears. That'll stop any finger pointing.
ReplyDeletegood luck with that!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I am sure it will be fine! Good luck! Let us know how it all goes. I will say a prayer for you! :o)
ReplyDeletethat is too funny! he is totally your kid :) I am sure it will go great!
ReplyDeletelol hahah I loved that he "dropped it like it's hot" I hope my kids come home with those stories!
ReplyDeleteOh-- don't even get me started about P-T conferences they are not loved around here either. At every single one(all through daycare, pre-school and now K) we hear "he cannot sit still in circle time"--yeah Ritalin (or some such version) here we come!
ReplyDeletecome on what's to worry? guess i will know when my time comes huh? ok hugs, kisses and good lucks to you1
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have a little spitfire like that! You know she loves him!
ReplyDeletelol...he seriously sings Super Freak....lol I heart that kid! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be right there with you in a few years. So don't worry, you aren't the only one with a psychotic child! My pediatrician might as well write up his lifetime prescription for Ritalin right now. And hey, at least our boys are good with the ladies! Mine has been stealing kisses since he started crawling. We must be doing something right!
ReplyDeleteooooohhhhh!!! PTC!!!! NO!!! i despise these...i have actually yet to have a real one...but i am just sure i would hate them...i am sure that i would break down in to tears and tell the teacher she doesn't know anything if she tried to tell me something negative...hahaha...yeah one of those parents...
ReplyDeletebut seriously that photo is amazing!!! and i love that he steals kisses on the playground and drops it likes it's hot!!! my kinda kid right there!
Bwahahaha! My little mini-me was obsessed with Jim Carrey and was watching the movie The Mask everyday. Don't ask, I don't know. He told his teacher, when he got caught kissing his "girlfriend" Jessica, "No, it wasn't me, it was the one armed man." I couldn't help it, I burst into hysterics laughing when the teacher recounted the story to me. Yes. Proud moment.
ReplyDeleteGott give the boy props! Super Freak is a classic!
ReplyDeletePS, Fingers Crossed and good luck wished!
ReplyDeleteThis cracks me up. OMG! That picture is priceless. LMAO. I think you rock as a mother. I love this kid!
ReplyDeleteHe signs Super Freak?! I so wish I was still in 3rd grade because I would totally take him in for Show and Tell because that is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome kid. Seriously. He is going place.
ReplyDeleteI had that conference with my son's teacher and he is just in Kindergarten. My daughter's teachers are praying they can whip him into shape before he makes it to their classes. Good luck with that!
ReplyDeleteLoving your family motto!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh he'll be fine. I'm sure the teacher loves him and if not, seriously? Because you know there are mouthy little brats being bullies that she should be dealing with over your little man (wow, just got a flash of deja vu writing this)
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will help you feel better, in my fourth grade parent teacher conference, my mother was told that her daughter and her daughters best friend had skipped D.A.R.E. ..... yep. We skipped it. BUT we had gotten muddy outside at recess and were in the bathroom scrubbing our sleeves off. Next thing we know (supposedly an hour had passed...we're still skeptical) and our teacher came storming in. I swear her red hair was on FIRE!
ReplyDeleteI think we should get Mason into my Husband's class. That'd be a treat...
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, Mason is an angel compared to some of the monsters my husband has had to teach... ones that threatened to slice their mothers throats. No joke. How scary is that shit?
Good luck hahah that is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteRITALIN?!?! bwahahahahaha...i dunno why but i always get a crack out of hearing that. please tell me he doesn't wear a helmut too?!
ReplyDeletethe fact that he sings super freak in class just made him my new favorite kid. good luck with "the talk."
He's Super Freaky, oowww.
ReplyDeleteHilarious.
Reason number 4,376 to homeschool: no PTC's!!
(as a parent OR a teacher, since I have my degree in education!)
I'm sure it will go great. He has a fabulous mama who raised him after all!
ReplyDeleteIf this is the type of conference where the child attends then it'll be all about positive affirmation. Sometimes I'd rather not have the child there and cut to the chase. But, that's me. And this is a downer comment. Guess I've been to one too many of these. They drive me bonkers. It accomplishes NOTHING. oops. more downness.
ReplyDeleteHAVE FUN!! GOOD LUCK!! And if he's half as awesome as you he's got it made.
Good luck! I'm sure he's fabulous.
ReplyDeletesuper freak!!!! lols you got yourself some kid =) good luck at the ptc!!
ReplyDeletexo
Good luck! You may be surprised and hear only positive things. After all who couldn't love a face like that?!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the ptc! I used to dread them as a kid :P
ReplyDeleteSE
lady i hope everything goes well and i'm positive your sons teacher will do nothing but say positive things about him! i mean let's get real, who doesn't love a kid that can bust out super freak and drop like it's hot? especially in front of their class? that right there = bad a in my book.
ReplyDeleteomg my heart started beating faster just reading that. I don't like being judged.
ReplyDeleteI agree, just start crying. That'll throw the teacher's game way off! Then blame his father!
ReplyDeleteI can only pray my child does similar things in class. I'll bet Mason's teacher loves him. I mean, she does if she has a sense of humor, anyway. That kid would make my day.
ReplyDeleteThe gift card wouldn't hurt, though. I was thinking about bribing my research professor with it, but I don't think he knows what Target is.
Man, and I just finished bitching at my sons math teacher for giving him a "100 completion grade" on a fraction worksheet when he got half the answers wrong. Maybe I should get him to throw down some moves and lyric in class ans see if that helps.
ReplyDeletei'm sure it will be great - my son is a hot mess and his conference went fabo
ReplyDeleteParent teacher conferences...so much fun! I like the idea of the Target gift card and call it a school year
ReplyDeleteHa, lmao at the booty shake! Sounds like my son..surprised he's not at school mooning everyone like he does here at home...I don't know where he gets it from..really, I don't! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will go great!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you write, it is as though
ReplyDeleteI am sitting with you and chatting, chica you are a riot! I am sure your lil guy is fabulous just like his mama...no need to worry just yet(fingers crossed)!
Smooches,
Sassy Chica
I think it's hilarious that he drops it like its hot...hmmm, now where did he learn that???
ooohhh...good luck! i am currently waiting on the results of my son's neuropsychological evaluation to see what we can do for him in school. good times, good times....
ReplyDeleteOh, good luck, sweetie! I hope it goes well. You'll have to let us know! He really is a little doll.
ReplyDeleteLOL good luck! he's fabulous either way, just like his momma :)
ReplyDeleteOMG hahahaha ohhh Mason you're gonna give your mama a heart attack! I'm sure it will be fabulous lady...rave reviews. I give him an A PLUS PLUS PLUS for dropping it like it's hot...that is ahhhmazing!
ReplyDeleteHaha.
ReplyDeleteYup, my son is just as active. He's on Vyvanse. Thank goodness for Vyvanse.
oh your boy rocks!!! let them say whatever they want to say! following rules is totally overrated for kids for sure!! hi-5 to your awesome dude!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it'll be fine. Every teacher likes a fun kid, right? Maybe....
ReplyDeletehaha... good luck!!
ReplyDeletePS: I voted for you in Summer's contest!! I saw you won today... congrats!!
he is just the cutest...I'm sure that it is going to go great!
ReplyDeleteHa! I teach first grade and I DREAD parent teacher conference. I would LOVE it if a parent sent me a note and a Target gift card.
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, how did it go lady love???
I can't wait to hear how this meeting ends!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy kid can't sit still in his chair to save his soul. His teacher repeatedly comments "Jake's always the last one to finish his work..hmmmmm" (He's a First Grader too). After we left his last Confernece I had terrible visions of expensive tutors and embarassing grade repeats.
ReplyDeleteBut in the end, they all make it through school.
I am cracking up so hard right now, lol!! I'm sure it will be fine - you'll see.
ReplyDeleteOf course if it doesn't go well you'll have another great blog post, right?? Trust me to keep it real...........
Perfect. I had my first parent teacher conference with my son last week. Even though I teach at the school where he goes? Still a nervous wreck.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I have a kid with a few learning labels attached to her, or they like it that way anyway. AAAAAAND they still managed to send her home with the occasional pink slip of trouble.
ReplyDeleteSo stupid. So she was a little immature-so she still couldn't read. So she wrote her name perfectly backwards....SO FREEKIN WHAT. oh yeah I loved those meetings. I was armed with much to say to them about kids like mine. My thinking was this: you certainly dont really think I am going to be able to have a regular converstaion with you the TEACHER if you have no idea that not all kids are the same do you!!!! Me thinkith that if one gets into that industry than one should be well versed of such things; Ie, kids who learn differently.
AAAAAND they should definitely learn how to share in the wonderful things about that child... Such as, "drop it like its HOT" to me that is the perfect teaching moment for math.... or something...If nothing else
Music Appreciation day!!! seriously....
my daughters kindergarten teacher told me that in her 18 years of teaching she has never seen a child as slow as mine..
OOOOOOOOH NeLLI look out!!
my daughters 1st grade teacher (Miss Duty) need I say more...
The school refused to give her and IEP- which was so stupid.
They waited until she was three grade levels behind before allowing a test...
yea that makes sense.
YOu just go get em killer!!

I like that boy. He is charming like his Momma. And fyi, I think we all like you unmedicated. So don't touch that Ritalin.
ReplyDeleteI have something for your on my blog. It is fabulous. And it is bitchy.
I was so nervous when we had our lil man's 1st grade parent teacher a few weeks back. I was trying not to be "that" mom. You know the one who thinks that their kid is brilliant and does no wrong! I ended up being that mom as she told me his scores could get better! Ugh..The overachiever in me does my poor son no good! Hope it goes well..tell us ALL about it!! She could learn a thing or two from droppin it!
ReplyDeleteholy moly! superfreak! he dances! he sounds like a gem!!!!
ReplyDeletei hope it goes well. i bet these things are 100% NERVEWRACKING! GAH! i would be a basket case. but you are going to be fine! you are fab, and he might be a hand full, but aren't all the good ones? :)
