Here at the Cline household Playdoh has been the cause of World War III. Seriously I'm about to drop some bombs on a certain little 5 yr old that thinks its fun to wrap ALL his figurines in Playdoh...do you know how difficult it is to get all that Playdoh out of all those little cracks and crevices?! Because I do!! AND IT SUCKS!! If they didn't cost $7 a pop I'd throw out the entire collection. But nooooooo, here I am pulling Playdoh out of Luke Skywalkers butt. I'd like to drop kick my kid like a football right now...don't be alarmed...I won't really do it. But a girl can dream, right?
Here's a random fun fact I just found out. The makers of Playdoh- Noah McVicker and Joseph McVicker. MALES! And originally they made it as a wallpaper cleaner...wtf? Whose bright idea was it to let the kids play with the wallpaper cleaner? UGH.
Okay enough complaining! I just had to vent. And on a more serious note, I'm super bummed about Michael Jackon passing away. Despite all the controversy that surrounded him and his life, he was an American Icon. The King of Pop. The guy was just Bad. I will truly miss his amazing performances and the sequined glove. I'm so thankful for his music, at least we'll always have that. Now I'm gonna go slide around my kitchen floor with my glove on, let out a loud "HEE-HEEE....OWWW" and rock out to some MJ.

Stopping by from sits and read your post. He was an american Icon! The jackson 5 and his stuff from the 80's...Genious. But I think he was sick, maybe seriously depressed and suffering. It is too bad he went from an icon to a freak. I loved him back when. Hopefully most of the people remember how amazing he was nad not this...ya know?

HaHa! Luff it!! omg. This is why you are my best friend! Parkie hasn't discovered playdoh....I don't think he ever will. lol.
ReplyDeletePoor Michael. I'm gunna miss his funky clothes and interesting face. His music will forever play in my home.

Play Doh is evil!!
ReplyDeleteAnd,I still can't get over the whole MJ thing!
I keep the playdoh up and away. When S gets to play with it he can only play with it and the toys he has for it (which admittedly are too many anyway LOL). He LOVES playdoh and even more since it's a special toy that he gets to play with.
ReplyDeletePS throw throw the toys in a sink with warm water and soap...soak then use a TOOTHBRUSH.
Seriously gonna miss the MJ too! LOVED HIM! Always been one of my faves.
Funny that you said drop kick because I totally say that too ROTFL
I loved you're post on play-doh!!! I had to laugh because it made me think...MEN! Only they would come up with something unrealistic and with out any logic involved, and i espceialy had to laugh that the makers wanted to use it as a wallpaper cleaner, i mean seriously, ae you kidding me. Judging by the mess it makes it would have screwed up any wallpaper!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree its really sad about MJ. He wont be forgotten.

happy friday!!!
I need to start watching the news or check it out on the net didn't know MJ passed away...when did that happen? I loved his songs no matter what and will always do! as for playdoh...I think I simply wont buy it haha looks easier to me...good luck with the cleaning it really made me laugh and btw it HAD to be a man see we are grown up and think men stay kids...
ReplyDeleteMy pet peeve with playDoh is I don't like it when kids mix the colors...I'm in big trouble I think when I have kids, hopefully I can get over the mixing and let them be kids!
ReplyDeleteIt could be worse - Nickelodeon's Gak Splat, Oh My Gross. It stains every surface it touches, and it runs/oozes.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they still sell that crap, but stay far, far away.
Moon Sand my eye.
Slime (and its counterfeits) is redeemed by the farting sound. I can't help it - I love Slime.
I hate watercolors, and most markers. ("Washable"? Puh-leez.)
Crayons melt in a hot car. I'm a dumba**.
Finger paints. Eek!
I need some Advil.
Love the new blog look! Sorry about the play dough mess :) I think it is pretty funny that men invented it. I bet they didn't even have children at the time! :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great girl!
ReplyDeleteI loathe playdough. However, to make it more bearable take a cardboard tray that a case of water comes in and have the kids play with it in that. Mess is contained a little bit more!
Your blog is rocking it!!! Playdo = toxic. I'm throwing the whole lot away today. WTF? And, yes it is a bummer to see the King of Pop pass. Get on your glove and work it out girl.
ReplyDeleteYour new look is faboosh! Loves it!
ReplyDeleteMichael Jackson...ugh. So sad! I still can hardly believe it.
I love the mental image of playdoh getting plucked from the crevices of Luke's butt. Awesome!
Dude, when I was a nanny, my kids used to play with this stuff that resembled Floam. One child was a color purist and hated for the colors to touch each other, while the other child liked to smoosh them together for kicks. And once mixed, they can never, NEVER be separated. I believe some time-outs ensued after that debacle.
ReplyDeleteI can't get Moose to play with Play-doh, I guess I should enjoy that for now. lol
ReplyDeleteOkay. I love you. You said 'Holla' on the SITS roll call and I knew I would find a friend! And Playdoh...I am known for hating it. But I DO buy it as gifts to the boogers I don't like in my kids classes as gifts. I have punctured my foot more times than not with that crap. Have a great one SITSta.
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled across your blog and love it! You are awesome and I love the style of your writing. Gonna follow you along!
ReplyDeleteLADY!!! i am on my way...we will spend the day away dancing to m.j. and embarrassing our kids!!! i am definitely going to remember the music...his songs were some of the biggest memory makers of my youth and those things don't fade away easily...
ReplyDeleteas for you new layout...love it!! love me some eighties ultra brights!
A-ahahahahahahahaha and I thought my little guy was the only one who wrapped every damn small toy in it!!
ReplyDeleteNote to self: Never buy Play Doh for Toot. That is so sad about MJ...
ReplyDeletewe are so over playdoh here. my kids don't even ask me to buy it anymore...i have said no so many times already. that's a mom-mom's house toy, 'cause she's crazy like that. that's probably why they like her more. poor michael. i will have to see if i still have the poster of him in the yellow outfit that used to hang on my bedroom wall. and the pin for my jacket.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Playdoh is hell. But what are you going to do? It keeps them busy for hours. The boys just pulled it out the other week and decided it was best if they played in the dining room. Now that I now have pink playdoh in my white carpet. It is also stuck in the bottom of their sneakers, and my air vents. You get major props for pulling it out of Skywalker's butt.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about MJ, the fiance and I jammed out to Beat It last night in his honor.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look, the pics at the top are super cute!
What else is playdough for? I'm still laughing. . . .still laughing:)
ReplyDeletewhat a great image of you pulling play doh out of poor luke's bum!
ReplyDeletei am lovin the new look.
Record yourseld dancing, I wanna see it! The glove, oh the glove!
ReplyDeleteI hate Playdoh too!
Macey
There is only one thing worse than play doh, and that is MOON SAND! Ugh, what a mess.
ReplyDeletehahaha... HEY I'M DOING THAT RIGHT NOW! JIMONA!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the new blog!! Super cute pics up there! ;)
ReplyDeleteI will be rockin to MJ all weekend! ha!
Lovin' your fancy new blog look..and how did I not read one of your interests was "lovin on your hot husband" LOL You guys are a cute couple :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, I posted a more controversial MJ post today following a heated debate with my "hot husband" ;-)
Play-doh is SO evil! It has been banned in this house since my 2 older ones were about 3-4. I got SO tired of picking it up off the floor, finding dried out balls in the toy boxes or as you said wrapped up in something it shouldn't be in. I've found it in the washer/drier, pockets, and in my carpet. If I had a nickle for every time I had sit for an hour with a butter knife scraping it up from under my table (carpet dining room) I'd be a millionaire I swear it! I prefer finger paints :) Those are usually washable :).
ReplyDeleteMJ will so be missed :(. I was completely shocked when my mom told me.
Play-doh is evil but kids LOVE it and it keeps them quite so I am decided that play-doh happens outside and thats it. If it gets all grassy fine then I will just throw it away. And if they eat it, fine. Its non-toxic.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS, and OMG you crack me up with the playdoh....My son got some for his 2 yr bday in May....yeah that was put in the closet and may never be taken out! Good thing he didn't notice...besides it says 3+ years...who does that? Buy a 2 year old playdoh! I have a recipe to make my own playdoh and even then I don't think I will!
ReplyDeleteHave fun cleaning Luke Skywalker's butt LOL
Just found your blog. Super cute.
ReplyDeletePlaydough in Luke Skywalker's butt is hot.
Just kidding.
Preach on SITSta!
Don't hate me but....I love Play Doh! I buy it for my nephew all the time, so I can play with it, too!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Michael Jackson. I was never a big fan of his though he had some great songs in the 80's but this is still sad.
You can make "play-doh" that's safe to eat (tastes gross but at least it isn't toxic). Try googling play dough or salt dough recipes.
ReplyDeleteSame guy who invented Silly Putty, I think. Has one of your kids ever left it lying around the house? It melts into a little puddle, and it stains, too! I've been totally slothful today...commemorating MJ's passing by watching MTV non-stop. At least the Music TV Station is back to what it was intended for!
ReplyDeleteDude I loved playdoh back in the day...never thought about ow my mum must have felt clearing it all away though lol ... I still can't believe Michael Jackson :O
ReplyDeleteDrop kick your child, you went there! Love it! Is this why on Jon & Kate they only let their kids play with playdoh outside? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm anti-playdoh. My poor kids hardly ever get to play with it. Usually when they do, I make it and throw it away that night so they don't make messes for days on end. I hate the little crumbs everywhere and how you still find them for a week after they play with it.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea - thanks for sharing! And, good luck with Luke's fanny.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't reached the playdoh stage yet. I'm thinking, when we do, I might just make peanut butter playdoh and then he has to eat it off the carpet or off of any little toys he wraps it around.
ReplyDeleteI was so bummed about Michael Jackson! He's one of my favorite performers of all time. I was so looking forward to his new CD and I had dreams that one day I might be able to afford a nosebleed ticket to one of his random concert tours.
oh my gosh, I love playdoh (SORRY). AND I am also a bad bad aunt because I give lots of it to my nephews and nieces... hehe!! my sister-in-law also thinks playdoh is the devil... guess I won't understand until I have my own little babies to mess up everything!! good luck!
